Back in 2016 I had a dream where I was in this red house that was in my neighborhood in real life, but also appears in my dreams a lot. I was walking through the living room past some guy who was sitting on the couch sleeping. It was like 2am in the dream and on the TV there was an infomercial playing. it was for a country classics CD box set. And you know those old infomercials, the ones where they play snippets of all the old hits on the albums they're trying to sell. So, as I was walking by I heard this one song and it was so catchy, I had to stop and listen. I was like, "This is fucking awesome". I had only heard the chorus and part of a verse and then I woke up. I immediately grabbed my guitar and went to work trying to figure out what I heard. The chords and the chorus lyrics are directly from the dream. I had to fill in the blanks and write the verse lyrics based on what the concept was. I love this song. It's an air tight song from the melody to the lyrics to the concept. Finally, after all these years I got around to finishing the demo these last couple of days. I had started recording the guitars and percussion back in 2016 and the other day I finally dug out the session and finished recording the lyrics, which was 2/10/2024. Someday I'm going to make a perfect album when I can get into a real studio with my favorite friend musicians. Perfect in my mind, anyway. And this song is definitely going on it. I'm proud of this one. But right now, this is what I got. But I think the demo is pretty cool too. The song shines through the lo-fi atmosphere and you can hear the potential easily. If I could only get it to a country star so they could do it. It would be a total crossover country smash. I mean, it was already a country classic hit in my dream right? So it's already been proven. ;)
