Outbound Train Well, I've been waitin' for the train There's been a one hour delay And you've been drivin' me insane And that is more than I can take You can come on down And you can play And hang around But you'll never be the same Well, now I'm drownin' in your tears And you've been cryin' here for years And now I'm gettin' on this train And I hope to never see your face again You can come on down And you can play And hang around But you'll never be the same You can come on down And you can play And hang around But you'll never be the same You can come on down And you can play And hang around But you'll never be the same

In the Meadow of the Ghetto Sunshine, breakin' through the sky Burnin' down, oh sweet daylight So bright, shinin' through my eyes This is the sun, and it's crazy tonight 80 miles through the meadow, and I'm breakin' away within the wind In the heart of the ghetto, and I'm breakin' away within the wind It's all inside of my head though, and I'm breakin' away within the wind And when I leave this town, bro, well I'm never ever comin' back again And I'm never comin' back again And I'm never comin' back again Again.... Blacktop, feelin' oh so sweet Pretty flowers, growin' in the street Green leaves, swimmin' in the trees This is the sun, baby, and it's runnin' from me 80 miles through the meadow, and I'm breakin' away within the wind In the heart of the ghetto, and I'm breakin' away within the wind And when I leave this town, bro, well I'm never ever comin' back again And I'm never comin' back again And I'm never comin' back again And I'm never comin' back again Yeah alright

Find the Rain Wash away my smile Fill me with a frown Leave me for a While Passed out on the ground So you could get away and I could stay the same Would you help me find the rain So I can wash away Wash away Wash away Wash away Outside my culture I lost my faith again Rip me apart To find my only friend 'Cause you left me far behind Lost inside the pain If I could only find the rain To help me wash away Wash away Wash away Wash away Wash away Wash away Wash away Wash away

High 01:28
High I think I thought of what I wanted to say Well, I was thinking 'bout yesterday I didn't mean to just pass you by I'm really sorry and if I saw you I would've said high.... Do you know why.... You can try.... Well, I can't lie.... Yes I'm.... I'll tell you what and you'll ask me how But all I know is that it's all about now And if you want to travel the sky Well, little boy I got something that'll make you fly.... Do you know why.... You can try.... Well, I can't lie.... Yes I'm high Yes I'm high Yes I'm high

about

Sunshine Flipside was Lxnnnie's main band from 1995 to around 2009. The band had many line-up changes and incarnations throughout its lifetime. Revelation 22:2 was recorded in late 1997 or early 1998. The exact date has been lost to time. This album was one of the only good things the band ever recorded, as even though they went on to be signed with a different line-up in 2002, nothing worthwhile was recorded. Well, there were lots of recordings but they all came out like shit. The assigned producers had no idea what they were doing and this left the band disenfranchised and they eventually imploded and disbanded in 2004. From 2005 to 2009 there were a few more incarnations and shows but no recordings. That being said, Revelation 22:2 is it. This line-up was technically the 2nd longest incarnation but the first real line-up that played shows and made the first (and seemingly only) decent professional recording. At the time of this recording, Lonnie was 20, Mike was 18 and Ryan was 15.

This EP displays rock and roll in its purest and most visceral form. Hungry young men ready to take on the world and you can hear it in the music. Raw and sloppy at points but sloppy like good rock and roll should be with moments that shine bright. Moments like the guitar solo in "Outbound Train" and the catchy chorus of "In the Meadow of the Ghetto". The centerpiece of the album is "Find the Rain", a beautifully lush exclamation of melancholy that holds up to this day. The standout track would have to be "From Another Planet", an instrumental that whole heartedly lives up to its name. Lxnnnie has said the last minute of the song is his most favorite piece of music he has ever recorded. On to "Hang Trees", which was one of the closing songs the band played at gigs during this era. A raucous rocker that could sit right up next to any of the best garage rock anthems. Lastly, Revelation 22:2 closes with a little tune called "High", a declaration of lackadaisical honesty with a perfectly compatible melody and groove.

Sunshine Flipside was a hell of a band and this particular era was a great one. The band was young, fresh, full of spirit and building a local buzz. This excitement is all over Revelation 22:2. RIP Sunshine Flipside. You are missed.
