Never No Nothing was dubbed from the only surviving cassette in Lxnnnie's archive which contain this particular collection of songs. The recordings are corrupted, having been dubbed down to an old broken stereo in '96, leaving the album with a lower than usual fidelity and static throughout. Comprised of mostly 4-track cassette recordings and a few 1-track recordings, these songs were originally released on different cassette album compilations back in 1996 and 1997 to friends and family. Being early on in Lxnnnie's songwriting career, some of the lyrics are a bit juvenile, but all the elements are there. Pretty melodies arise here and there in songs like 'World of Ex' and '13 Shooting Stars.' Other songs like 'Fear' and 'Death Needs Me Like a Drug' make it quite obvious that Lxnnnie has been aquatinted with fairly grim concepts since the beginning. The last 2 songs 'Just a Waif Away' and 'Rum and Coke,' seem to be off the cuff, as if written and recorded quickly with friends while fooling around and having fun, which comes through quite easily to the listener. All in all, Never No Nothing is an album full of acoustic melody, simple lyrics, future potential and static.
